this year i dont really have the mood to celebrate raya, i dunno why, just not in the mood. but as the only daughter, i still do what a good daughter should do - balik kampong.. hmm... i dont have a kampong - my parents stays in tmn sri andalas klang. luckily for us, this place still feels like a kampong, i mean the kampong spirit.. malam raya the surau groups go to all the muslim houses to do the takbir raya. but kesian my mom, this year i cannot help her with the preparation coz i was working on malam raya.. a few years back i gave mommy the best idea for malam raya so that she doesnt have to do a lot of preparation. instead of serving makanan berat-berat we decided to just serve fruit (grapes), jelly and vitagen. so tak payah basuh pinggan mangkuk just throw the bekas jelly and vitagen. mom kena basuh 4 pinggan je, the ones we put the grapes.. then since our living hall is spacious enuf to accomodate about 30 people, sitting but squeezing a bit lah, i told mom to arrange the sofa against the wall to even after raya pun tak payah nak re-arrange balik.. senang kan.. am a good daughter.. he he he..

mom just renovated the house. now our kitchens - the wet kitchen and the dry kitchen are bigger than the whole house ! the first time i saw, terbeliak bijik mata i and i said - mak aai ! besarnya... you know what was mom's reaction ? - senang kalau nak buat kenduri... (with a synical look) i got what she meant right away - what she actually meant was - senang la kalau nak buat kenduri bila u kawin...

hmmm.... i wonder when as well...

my exciting boring life

last nite we started the first rehearsal of the odd couple.
i got a new asst - johann lim.
met all the casts - samantha schubert, bernie chan, elaine daly, sarah shahrum, chermaine poo & shamsunder binwani... chacko vadaketh will only join us starting thursday..
we started with the director being late ! ha ha ha !! joe and faridah went to makan for buka puasa, i sincerely thot that joe knows about the rehearsal starting at 7.30pm, that was i did a speed-buka-puasa-eating-and-smoking, hoping that i can be done in 26 mins or less..
it was 7.40pm when i called joe and told him that he was late.. :-)))) i had the chance to call joe hasham and tell him that he was late !!! enjoy it while it last, girl !
we read thru the whole play.. it's nice to see that everybody enjoyed it, it brings back memory they say...

after rehearsal, went to centerpoint banana leaf restaurant with johann and met maybel, ky-gan, chuang yik & soon yoon... we started a dream................

first time kenduri at home

i cooked !
i actually had the mood to cook for my close friends..
nothing special lah, just my normal dishes - ayam sambal, daging cili api, sayur campur, telur dadar & ikan masin.. no one said whether it was nice but no one complain.. siap tambah lagi.. sedap la tu kot..
shah, elly, yan, zam, rasul, before, ani, su, ijat, wandi, wani and aie came..

after that we went to the new uptown in danau kota.. punyalah ramai manusia.. i didnt buy anything coz didnt have time to look at anything coz busy making sure i dont bump into people and busy trying to get thru the human being attack..

my boring life...

ok, the previous post has been in the draft for a month.. am back to my normal me and am happy.. still dunno what was that all about, still dunno why am i so happy but am happy..

my updates since my last post :

i've stage-managed 'anak bulan di kampong wa' hassan'. writer alfian bin sa'at, director and cast gene sha rudyn.. gene played 15 characters all by himself. gene can be a pain sometimes but he is so professional so can't help it but wanting to work with him more.. even sometimes i dont even know what is he talking about.. too much symbolic. but the kg wa' hassan piece is really really emotional.
my team - boy (sound), hanif & donald (light) & d'boy (stagehand) had fun together - the pokok kelapa accident, the arang, the kemenyan, the buka puasa, the friend who sat beside boy but they couldn't see who... heheheh..

i stage-managed chinese whispers, a poetry performance by francesca beard. 3 days show, again i got boy & donald. francesca was wonderful ! the piece was funny ! british council made a right decision..

i've been offered to stage-managed ah steve, green snake in buto and the betrayal..
confirmed stage-managing the restaging of odd couple (the female version) and broken bridges (the musical in ipoh).

for the past 2 weeks, i had several reunion lepaking party at setapak with my ex-collegues (shah, elly, yan, rasul, wan anton, abu, amir, atapol, zairi, etc..) buka puasa together, snooker, lepaking til 5am.. ooh.. i miss the old days..

buka puasa a few times already with my darling - once at home, at rebung bangsar, at mr. ho's bsc, at peppercorn ukay perdana. food choices was good and today i planned to cook at home.. hopefully i still know the difference between garam and gula !

mercun, bunga api - damaging my eardrum lately. i felt like shouting to the parents of the children who are playing with the dangerous items. don't they care ? plus my rufus and hazel get a shock everytime the mercun blasts. when they are shocked they get scared and they hide in places not even i can find.. you idiot parents ! you go sembahyang terawikh and let your kids burn your money ! no brain huh ? why am i so angry, no festival spirit ? it's not that.. it's just too bad that i love my cats more than they love their kids...

raya plan ? don't feel like celebrating raya this year.. was even hoping that i won't be getting any holidays for raya.. i got 2 days off and didn't like it.. lied to my mom - told her i got only one day off so i don't have the time to go visiting.. i'll celebrate raya alone with my adorable rufus & hazel !
